CAN I SERVE IT MYSELF?

In New York, you cannot serve any documents where you are a party in the action.
Anyone over 18 who resides in New York  and is not a party to to the action can legally serve the papers.
With that comes some responsibility.  A simple mistake in the service, paperwork, or filing process could set you back or get thrown out of court. 

IF ANYONE CAN SERVE THE PAPERS, WHY SHOULD I HIRE A PRIVATE PROCESS SERVER?

An experienced private process server is the best bet. Any errors in service could force you back to court and start over from square one. Until proper service is effected, you can’t get your matter heard. Additionally, an experienced private process server has encountered many situations and should know how to handle it.
The paperwork is equally as important. Whether served or non-served, the court needs the proper paperwork to advance your case.
Using a relative or friend can cause conflicts and often result in improper service or paperwork.  Also, a process server is a neutral 3rd party with no conflict or bias.

HOW DO I GET THE PROCESS STARTED?

• Choose a service.  Routine/Basic, Rush 24 hour service, Same Day Service or 2 hour service.

• Fill out the form.  Scan & Upload the documents (Scan app here)
  If you don't have access to a scanner or scann app, you can take pics of pages and upload the individually

• Complete Payment

DO YOU COVER ANY OTHER COUNTIES

Yes, we cover Parts of Wayne County, Orleans County, Ontario County, Livingston County, and Genesee.
Special rush services may be affected in these areas .
Please call us at 585-455-4555 to confirm.  Due to the size of the counties, we may not cover the entire area.
Cost starts at $85 for those areas.  Calling first is the best options.
