Why-Serve Rochester Process Servers

Thinking about a Box Box Company for Hire ??

Before Using a Big Box Process Serving Company, there are a few things to consider.

If you are considering using one of the big box companies who say they can server nationwide, consider whether or not this is the best option for you.

If you are service hundreds of papers around the country, having one point of contact could save you a lot of time finding servers and tracking your documents.  This may work for you if it's in your budget.

If you don't serve a large volume or you are working without an attorney, finding a locally established process server may be your best bet.

When you hire a big box, your documents are often processed through multiple people, put out to bid to the lowest bidder who generally are the exact same local servers you could easily find yourself at a lower rate.  Most seasoned process servers won't even touch these jobs, leaving them to their inexperienced competitors who eventually disappear because they lose money.  This hurst everyone.

When the big box takes your money, they may charge $100.  They then put it out for bid at a low price (sometimes $20.00 or less) and keep the $80.   I get it, they need to make money.   If a willing server accepts a low paying job, they usually give it low priority.  Why, do you ask?    I'll tell you.

Let's say a process server has 2 papers in their hand. One they are getting paid at market value and one from the big box company at a much lower payout, which do you think they will do first?  It's not a big deal if they only have 2 jobs but process servers generally have many jobs. Yours will put on the bottom of the pile and completed when they are in the area.  We call them filler jobs.

No matter what the big box companies tell you about their requirements for job attempts, the process server will generally ignore it because they are not getting paid enough to have someone dictate their schedule.

If you had used a local process server, you probably would have paid $75.  The servers would be making more money and your paper would now be a high priority service and you would be paying less.

If you are worries because you don't know who the reputable process servers are, use www.napps.com
This is a directory of professional process servers who are the best in the business.  Use the zip code search tool and you'll find the closest process servers to that zip.  There are other directories, but NAPPS by far is the most reputable and is a not-for-profit organization.  They also have a grievance process should you have any issues with the server.
